This was the Chancellor’s opportunity to outline a strategy to get our transport network moving. But yet again the Liverpool City Region is being starved of the funding it deserves whilst money is being funnelled to London and the South East. We need a direct fiscal commitment so we can build a prosperous City Region and close the North-South divide. It is shocking that for every £6 in transport funding spent in the South; the North gets just £1. In post-Brexit Britain, I am demanding Number 11 has a rethink and commits to giving our area the resource it needs so we can compete with our neighbours.
